What do you do?
I explain complicated things in simple terms. I provide copyediting and line editing. I have lots of experience working with non-native English speakers (NNEs). No matter whether English is your first language or your tenth, I can make your writing sound natural.
What are copy and line editing and how do they differ?
Copy editing checks spelling, punctuation, and grammar. You probably think of it as proofreading. Line editing makes your writing sound smooth and natural by looking at word choice and sentence structure. Joanne is an expert in both copy and line editing.
What else do you do?
I also edit medical expert reports using the AMA's protocol, to ensure the report accurately reflects the plaintiff's medical history. That saves you the embarrassment of having your error pointed out by opposing counsel in open court. I also make sure that your opinion is understandable by a lay audience and persuasive.
